SOLD - Glass stand with sealed ceramic paste - Harrachov

nz.187.24.47

A glass object from the Harrachov glassworks, located in Nový Svět, Harrachov (Bohemia), referred to in scholarly literature as a "stand", was made in the 1830s–1840s from clear, colourless glass with an embedded porcelain paste. The central inlay features a figure of Saint John of Nepomuk. It is finely decorated with a cut-glass pattern and remains in very good condition; a few minor chips on the edges can be seen in the photographs.
