Are you looking to purchase a diamond? When it comes to purchasing diamonds it is essential to realise that the size of the diamond is not the only factor that determines its price. In fact, there are 5 major factors to take into account: WEIGHT, COLOUR, CLARITY, PROPORTION and CUT. Furthermore there are other factors that can affect its price, such as fluorescence.

When purchasing a diamond always request a written guarantee of its attributes such as the main ones above: weight, clarity, colour, cut, proportion and also request a guarantee that the diamond is in fact natural and if it’s not then what sort of treatment has been conducted (heating, diffusion, laser drilling etc.).
Another thing to keep an eye out for is the certificate itself. Some companies emit unreliable certificates. Always request a certificate from a prestigious institution (GIA, HRD, DPL) or a well-established company with long term experience.
