Gold earrings with sea coral
Earrings crafted during the third quarter of the 19th century. Using 14k hollow gold, the jeweler created naturalistically rendered plant leaves, complemented by engraving and natural sea coral. Movable pendants in the form of hollow beads are attached to the earrings. The fastening is a clasp at the front.
Stamped with an Austro-Hungarian hallmark in use since 1872, though the piece was likely made earlier.
