Gold brooch with tourmalines - biedermeier
An elegant antique brooch made during the Biedermeier period, probably in the second third of the 19th century. The material is 14k yellow gold and natural tourmalines. The pin and hanging loop are of base metal. The plastic leaves are decorated with matting technique.
The needle with "C" clasp holds well, also thanks to the stopper on the needle.
The jewel can be worn as a brooch or as a pendant. Unmarked, the valid Czech hallmark is represented by a certificate from the Czech Assay Office.
Due to its age, the brooch bears minor signs of wear (small dents) and has a naturally occurring patina.
