SOLD - Stoneware tankard with apostles - Kreussen, around 1680
A hard stoneware tankard (so-called Steinzeug) with the figures of the twelve apostles in low relief, painted with coloured enamels (so-called Apostelkrug). The hinged lid and the edge of the base are made of pewter, the lid is stamped with the mark of the pewter workshop in Cheb from the early 1680s. The tankard comes from Kreussen in southern Germany.
The item bears signs of use and the lid has a crack in one place.
