Antique jewellery as a unique gift or an investment
Author: Martin Cinolter
Recently, I gave an interview for a professional publication where I was asked about many key facts that might also interest some readers of my blog.
Regarding jewellery and antiques in general, there are many questions I get repeatedly. Some of these have fixed and universal answers. However, I often answer based on current fashion trends or even the economic situation. Or depending on my mood – that’s a joke, of course!
My shop is located in the very epicentre of tourist activity in Prague, and I am often asked whether our customers are mainly tourists or locals. It’s a paradox, but we’re truly not a tourist shop. Although tourists do, of course, buy from us. Czech customers often purchase exclusive gifts from us. They are usually looking for something unique, creative, or one-of-a-kind. Some customers buy antiques as investments, primarily jewellery and watches.
I am also often asked whether antiques are generally “in fashion.” To this, I say that, compared to abroad, not so much. However, interest hasn’t significantly declined. The supply of quality items is quite extensive, and many of them are reasonably priced, which will delight your wallet.
If you’re interested in more details about trends, which in our market essentially follow international trends, are intrigued by antique items from an investment perspective, or have a specific desire – perhaps a diamond ring – read the full interview HERE.
