Decorated silver ladle
Ladle made of silver (Ag 925/1000) in England. It was marked in London with hallmarks referring to the year 1880. It is engraved with the letter "D" in the middle of the handle. The surface of the ladle is embossed and decorated with a floral motif with flowers and fruits. It also features a woman's face and fine engraving. The manufacturer was A.B. Savory & Sons. The founder of this manufacture was Adey Bellamy Savory in 1812 in the borough of Cornhill, London, later working with his four sons Joseph, Albert, Horace and Ethelbert Savory. The firm specialised in the manufacture of forks and spoons, kitchen accessories, clocks and gold and silver jewellery.
