Large silver ladle

A massive heavy ladle made of silver (Ag 925/1000 purity) in the Georgian period (1714-1830). It was hallmarked in London with hallmarks referring to 1822 and a master's mark 'W.E', which may belong to the London silversmith William Edwards, active from 1800.

The item is in excellent condition.

The Georgian period is a period of British history commonly defined as the reigns of George I, George II, George III and George IV from 1714 to 1830. Occasionally, this phase of British history includes the reign of William IV.
