Long niello silver chain - 143 cm
A long ladies’ chain from the early 20th century, intended for suspending a pocket watch or a lorgnette. Crafted from 800/1000 silver. The individual links feature detailed decoration – using the niello technique and rose gilding. Attached to the spring ring hangs a silver devotional medal inlaid with black enamel; the reverse side has an engraved monogram “M.Z”.
In several places, the Austro-Hungarian import hallmark with the letter “B” (the mark of the assay office in Linz), used between 1902–1921, appears alongside the fineness number “800”.
