Silver fish cutlery - František Bibus
Partly gilded silver fish knife and fork made in silversmith František Bibus workshop. The finely shaped handle is outlined by a simple double line and a calligraphically engraved monogram "OS"(?). Dimensions are 3,2 × 21,0 cm.
Franz Bibus & Sohn. The founder of the company was Franz Josef Bibus (1860-1941), who worked in Moravská Třebová from 1883, where he married and in 1887 had a son Carl Alois Franz Bibus, who later became a co-owner of the company (from 1917). The company name Franz Bibus appears from 1896. Initially the company produced small gold and silver chains, later gradually expanding its range to include boxes. Later, the range was extended to include cutlery and tableware.
