Timeless elegance of pearls

If you were to ask me, ladies, which piece of jewellery is timeless, elegant, and suits women of all ages, my answer would be: a pearl necklace. Pearls are perfect in their simplicity, and it’s interesting that they are associated with many myths and superstitions. However, the only thing you should believe is that they will suit you. I would even sign this in my own blood!
Earrings, rings, bracelets, or necklaces made of pearls should be in every woman’s jewellery box who loves adornments. Of all of them, I would highlight the “string of pearls.” The fact that this type of jewellery is a symbol of refined elegance and taste is certainly confirmed by the fact that two strands of pearls around the neck were worn by the iconic fashion designer Coco Chanel. So if you don’t believe my opinion, Coco is the guarantee!
Pearls not only enhance the wearer’s beauty but also serve as a confirmation of social status. Just take a look at photos of aristocrats or women from higher social spheres – pearls adorn many a neck. For older women, pearls add youthfulness. Really! I’m not a fashion guru, but I’ve picked up a few things over the years. For example, a simple dark turtleneck or jacket can add years to your appearance and give you a certain formal look. What to do about it? Just hang a pearl necklace around your neck and turn an ordinary outfit into the height of elegance, which will make you look younger and brighten your appearance. However, this doesn’t make pearls the domain of mature women; they suit women of any age. Remember the eccentric Carrie in the TV show *Sex and the City*, who paired pearls with even the most outrageous outfits. Yes, I’m such an observant man that to understand the female soul, I’m willing to watch a TV show even if I don’t belong to its target demographic.
Pearls are simply universal yet specific. Perhaps that’s why they are, unlike gold or gemstones, surrounded by superstitions and prejudices. Do you know any? Unfortunately, I do! The most famous one is probably the belief that pearls bring bad luck when given as a gift. So, how do you avoid it? Ideally, buy them yourself. However, if someone happens to gift you a pearl piece of jewellery and you experience a moment of superstition – give that kind person a crown. The superstition says that by doing so, you pay them, and thus the pearls will only bring you joy.
Rationality tells us not to believe in superstitions and instead focus on the quality of the specific jewellery. Nevertheless, my dear ladies, start wearing pearls in all forms and join the ranks of women like Michelle Obama, Queen Elizabeth II, or her daughter-in-law, Duchess Kate. But to be a bit less strict and let pearls retain some of their magic, you can believe in one myth. I’ve heard that pearls shine when in contact with skin and fade when stored in a jewellery box. Yes, believe that you will shine in pearls! If you buy a pearl piece of jewellery from an antique shop, you’re not only buying an accessory for your personality but also hidden stories that its original owners have left imprinted in its history. And I give you my expert word on that.
