Oil on cardboard painting by academic painter Vojtěch Hynek Popelka (1888 - 1961). The author studied at the Prague School of Applied Arts with professors E. Dítě and Heinrich Jaksch. He also studied at the Academy of Painting with Professor Hanuš Schveiger. He then made study trips around Bohemia and Moravia. In addition to landscaping, he specialized in painting animals (eg illustrations for Brehm's Animal Life).
