Hand-held scales – second half of the 18th century
Small hand-held iron scales with brass pans, probably made in the second half of the 18th century. Inside the original wooden case are two handwritten labels with descriptions in German. Johann Los informs the user that this is a small scale without weights, intended for weighing a single ducat according to the lot scale, up to a weight of 64 lots. The second text states that when the weight is placed, "Dopolonen" can be weighed.
One brass pan is marked with the figure of a knight (see photograph).
