Flower diamond brooch - end of 19th century
This antique flower brooch from the end of the 19th century is set with natural old-cut diamonds weighing a total of 2.55 ct. The central stone has a weight of 0.80 ct, colour E-F and clarity SI, around it are set seven old-cut diamonds weighing 0.20 ct each, colour F-H, clarity VS-SI and twenty-one diamonds of rose cut 7× 0.01 ct and 14× 0.02 ct.
The stones are set in silver, as was typical for the period. The body of the brooch is marked with the Vienna Austro-Hungarian hallmark indicating 14k gold. Further marked with the master mark "AR".
A screw thread on the back allowed the flower from the brooch to be used as part of other jewellery.
