Porcelain Figurine – Vienna, 18th century
Genre figure of a woman with firewood and an axe, made of porcelain around 1760 at the Imperial Manufactory in Vienna. Marked on the underside with an underglaze blue shield and an impressed letter "P", indicating the modeller Anton Peyer (also spelled Payer), active between 1762–1787.
The figure shows several minor manufacturing flaws – fine cracks in the folds of the headscarf and the lower part of the dress.
