Gold pendant with synthetic spinel
A pendant made in Czechoslovakia in the 1930s–1940s from 14k yellow gold. A light blue synthetic spinel is set at the center of the piece, around which the goldsmith has crafted a wide frame composed of leaves and flowers.
Stamped with the Czechoslovak "lion" hallmark, the maker's mark "O.D," and the fineness number "585."
Synthetic stones are chemically identical to natural stones but are created artificially. Compared to natural stones, these stones have the same or even better properties and do not contain various flaws, cracks, inclusions, etc.
