Bracelet with cameos in lava stone
Link bracelet with cameos carved in lava stone (solidified lava) originating in Italy. Each cameo has a different color. Stone frames and joints between individual links are made of base metal. Gold plated safety chain made of base metal was added to the bracelet later. The length of the bracelet is 18.5 cm.
The lava stone comes from the volcanic interior of our planet Earth. Lava stone bracelets have been worn since the ancient times, this stone was very popular in antiquity among Greek and Roman gem cutters and jewellers. With the development of mineralogy and tourism, marble and limestone came back into fashion in jewellery since the late 18th century.
