Oval bowl made of sterling silver by the American firm Durgin Co. The edges are richly decorated in relief and the bottom of the container has the monogram "FAA"(?) made in calligraphy.

The American company Durgin Co. founded in 1853 by William Butler Durgin (1833-1905). In 1905, it was purchased by the Gorham Company, which operated in Concord until 1931, when it moved to Providence. Durgin became the Durgin division of Gorham and manufactured under that name until 1940.
