Harlequin statuette - Meissen
Beautifully crafted porcelain statuette of Harlequin from the world-famous porcelain manufacture in Meissen. This is a modern work, but made according to Johann Kändler's original design from 1764. The Harlequin is hand-painted, the tankard is marked "ZM 1738" - a reference to the year when a group of Commedia dell'arte artists arrived in Dresden and to the artistic name of the actor playing Harlequin, Zanni Müller (Joseph Ferdinand Müller).
The statuette is in an excellent condition with no chips.
