Tango glass vase - Loetz
Vase made of Tango orange glass decorated with hyalite handles. It was manufactured between 1920 - 1930 in the Loetz glassworks.
Tango glass is an unmissable phenomenon, especially of Czech glassmaking throughout the first half of the 20th century. The fashion wave of tango dance was also reflected in applied art, and glass companies were also inspired by the new colors and color contrast. Even before the First World War, the term Tango glass referred not only to rich yellow, orange, red and green opal glasses, the color of which was achieved using cadmium sulfide, but also to these glasses typical contrasting decors in other color combinations.
