        <title><![CDATA[Art Deco Silver Coffee Set - 110,000 Kč]]></title>
        <description><![CDATA[<img src="https://antiquesprague.cz/59117-small_default/art-deco-silver-coffee-set.jpg" title="Art Deco Silver Coffee Set" alt="thumb" /><p>Elegant Silver Set – This set consists of a teapot, milk jug, sugar bowl, and six cups with saucers, each complete with porcelain inserts. The set is marked Epiag, Czechoslovakia (Erste Böhmische Porzellanindustrie A.G.), a prominent Karlovy Vary joint-stock company renowned for high-quality Czechoslovak porcelain, especially during the 1920–1940 period.</p>
<p>The silver components are stamped with the fineness number and the hallmark from the 1930s, and bear the master mark "J.H." (Josef Halíř, Prague, active 1930–1940).</p>
<p>📌 Note: The porcelain insert of one cup cannot be removed. We are happy to polish the light patina upon request.</p>]]></description>

Both pieces are stamped with English hallmarks.</p>

<p>The total weight of the carafes is more than 4.6 kg, mainly due to the use of a large amount of crystal glass. They are decorated with rich cut decorations, while the silver mounts bear elements of historicism.</p>

<p>Israel Freeman &amp; Son Ltd is a prominent British silversmithing company founded in the 19th century by silversmith Israel Freeman. In its early days, the company specialized in the production of silver items, from high-quality tableware to decorative objects. At the beginning of the 20th century, the company expanded its import and export activities worldwide.</p>]]></description>

<p>The capacity of the pot is 0.85 litres. The shape of the vessel is a reference to the '<a href="https://funnywherelifetakesyou.org/2023/08/02/guernsey-cans/"><em>Guernsey cans</em></a>' used to transport milk on the Channel Islands.</p>]]></description>

Marked with fineness number "800" and model number (?) "4202". The lid is opened by a hinged mechanism. Gilt inside.</p>
<p>The same serial number and similar design is also found on another product (<a href="https://antiquesprague.cz/cs/sklo-karafy/2321-karafa-svedsko-rok-1884.html">os.008.18.11</a>) in our offer, which is additionally marked in 1884 in Stockholm with the master mark "CGHg" (C.G Hallbergs Guldsmeds, active between 1864-1988).</p>
<p>Carl Gustaf Hallberg (1824-1880) was a Swedish jeweller and founder of C.G Hallbergs Guldsmeds. Hallberg began his career as an apprentice to art collector Christian Hammer in Stockholm, Sweden. In 1860 he opened his own shop and from 1864 he branded his products with the GCH mark.</p>]]></description>
