The material is silver with a fineness of 800/1000. The edges are profiled and shaped into an elegant line. Stamped with the Czechoslovak hallmark (used since 1929), the fineness number “800”, and a less legible maker’s mark.</p>]]></description>

        <title><![CDATA[Silver plate - J. C. Klinkosch - 42,000 Kč]]></title>

Klinkosch" alt="thumb" /><p>Plain silver plate made of solid 800/1000 silver. The wide rim features a calligraphic monogram "SR". Marked with the Austro-Hungarian "Diana" hallmark (used since 1872), the maker's mark "JCK" for Josef Carl Klinkosch, and "the Imperial Eagle" hallmark.</p>
<p>Josef Carl Klinkosch (1822–1888) was a prominent Viennese silversmith and official supplier to the Imperial Court of Emperor Franz Joseph I. In 1869, Klinkosch became the sole owner of the family manufacture, rebranding it as J.C. Klinkosch. His workshop was renowned for exceptional craftsmanship and award-winning designs showcased at world exhibitions in Vienna and Paris. Silverware bearing the "JCK" mark remains highly sought after by collectors worldwide.</p>]]></description>

<p>Marked "M" after the name of the company's local president, John C. Moore II (1907-1947). The production number 20198 refers to the first year of production of this design (from 1923).</p>]]></description>

The handle is engraved with the monogram "MTP". The basket was made in the USA in the 1920s-1940s.</p>

Marked with the Austro-Hungarian hallmark "Diana", the letter "A" (Vienna) and the master mark "SH". Decorated with relief and engraving. The tray is partly hollow (at the edges).<br /><br />This object is a wonderful example of the use of floral art nouveau on a utilitarian object. Its characteristic feature is precisely the smoky curve that winds along with the stylised flowers along the rim. The engraver then depicted the same motif on the centre of the tray.]]></description>
