Boulle clock with a pedestal and table, probably of French origin. Made in the Baroque style after André-Charles Boullé (1642–1732), who became famous for creating tortoiseshell-inlaid furniture for King Louis XIV.

The clock is richly decorated with gilded brass appliqués in combination with red tortoiseshell. Above the glass clock case, which houses a movement with a half-hour striking mechanism, sits a gilded dial. The dial features relief white enamel medallions with hand-painted dark blue numerals. The top of the clock is decorated with a gilded bronze vase full of flowers.

The pedestal is made of the same material as the clock, unlike the table, which is made of wood with brass inlay combined with colored lacquer imitating tortoiseshell. The table has one drawer, and there is slight damage to the wood on the leg and the corners of the tabletop caused by normal use. Some brass elements are loose (see photos).

The condition of both pieces is consistent with their age. The clock is functional, has been checked by a watchmaker, and is wound mechanically using the included key.

The column clock was made in the Biedermeier period, around 1830 - 1840. The dial is very well preserved, it is made of a combination of brass and porcelain. Striking is a quarter. The wooden structure is complemented by alabaster pillars at the front. The brass decoration and the pendulum are original.
