        <title><![CDATA[Icon with St. Paraskeva, St. John, St. Irene, and St. Panteleimon - 25,000 Kč]]></title>
        <description><![CDATA[<img src="https://antiquesprague.cz/57048-small_default/icon-with-st-paraskeva-st-john-st-irene-and-st-panteleimon.jpg" title="Icon with St. Paraskeva, St. John, St. Irene, and St. Panteleimon" alt="thumb" /><p data-start="94" data-end="488">An icon painted in tempera on a wooden board, created in Russia at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. It depicts four saints: from left to right, Saint Paraskeva, Saint John, Saint Irene, and Saint Panteleimon. Above them, in the “open heaven,” Christ Pantokrator is shown seated on clouds. The background and the frame of the icon are richly decorated with ornamental motifs.</p>

<p data-start="490" data-end="673">The object is accompanied by a certificate of sale and export issued by the Czech National Heritage Institute. Given its age, the painting shows minor signs of damage (see photographs).</p>]]></description>

        <title><![CDATA[Icon - Mandylion - 28,000 Kč]]></title>
        <description><![CDATA[<img src="https://antiquesprague.cz/57046-small_default/icon-mandylion.jpg" title="Icon - Mandylion" alt="thumb" /><p>Icon depicting a Mandylion – shows the frontal face of Christ on a pleated veil. Byzantine-style face, long wavy hair parted in the middle, short sparse beard and forked chin. It is a tempera painting on a wooden board. The painting is partially damaged (see photo).</p>
<p>The 19th-century item comes with a sales and export certificate issued by the Czech National Heritage Institute.</p>
<p>The Mandylion, also known as the Image of Edessa, is a holy relic venerated as an acheiropoieton (an image not made by human hands). It consists of a cloth bearing the alleged imprint of the face of Jesus Christ.</p>

Christ as Pantokrator floats on a cloud in the open sky. The entire icon, except for the incarnations, is covered with hammered sheet metal (cladding) made of base metal.</p>

The figure of the Virgin Mary holds a scepter in her right hand, her left hand in a protective gesture, palm down. It is surrounded by a group of sufferers, to whom angels approach and envelop them with cloaks. In the onion hill plaque is located in stylized clouds the half-figure of Christ Pantokrator.]]></description>
